Much love to my employers for such generous time to spend at home for the holidays this year. Philly's new job offered him the same, so I'm sure you can imagine how blessed we felt to kick up our heels with my family for over a week. A week! P spent his time designing a home with/for my parents (while I did more productive things like celebrating flannel pants and HGTV). Here, he is doing a little land survey... It should be a fun process! Flannel pants aside, I went to lunch with my cousins and an engagement party with family, shopping with my ma, and of course wished baby Jesus a happy birthday.
The boy and I made it back to a slippery snow-covered Kansas City for New Year's Eve and decided to unpack and cozy in with sushi take-out rather than brave the cold because, we are super exciting. The following day, we bought a new vacuum and nerded out to the superior design of Dyson. Did I mention we met six years ago on New Year's Eve? Now, that truly is super exciting and factual.
Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family resembles more of a cocktail party/dance competition. Sweat, prizes, regrettable dance moves resulting in elimination, the whole deal. These are all but two of my girly cousins on the Eve. We're pretty good about staying in touch, but actually getting my hands on them sure takes the cake. Gosh, I had a lovey dovey time at home.
